Photonic Topological Baths for Quantum Simulation

Quantum simulation involves engineering devices to implement different Hamiltonians and measuring their quantized spectra study quantum many-body systems. Recent developments in topological photonics have shown the possibility of studying novel phenomena by controlling properties such devices. Here, using coupled arrays up 16 high Q silicon nanocavities, we experimentally realize photonic baths, which are analogs Su–Schrieffer–Heeger model.
